Summit Z3-16 Exerciser with SMBus Support The Summit Z3-16 with SMBus Support is a critical test and verification tool intended to assist engineers in developing and improving the reliability of their systems. The exerciser can emulate PCI Express root complexes or device endpoints, allowing new designs to be tested against corner case issues. In addition, it can emulate SMBus traffic as a master or slave.
BitTracer The BitTracer Logic Display is a software option that runs on the Teledyne LeCroy Summit PCI Express Protocol Analyzers. BitTracer offers developers a physical layer view of PCI Express traffic, similar to what might be displayed on a logic analyzer, but provides this capability on a protocol analyzer. This means that developers can view bit stream traffic before it is decoded to high-level packets, to better understand where signal integrity issues may be causing data corruption.
PCIe Compliance Testing Teledyne LeCroy offers an integrated and automated compliance testing system, including the Protocol Test Card Platform, approved by the PCI-SIG as a standard tool for compliance testing for developers working with the PCIe 3.0 specification.
NVMe Testing The NVMe tests are designed to determine if a product conforms to specifications defined in the NVM Express . Successful completion of these tests provide a reasonable level of confidence that the Device Under Test (DUT) will function properly in a NVM Express environment.

PCI Express Test Platform with SMBus Support The Summit Z3-16 Test Platform with SMBus Support allows the Summit Z3-16 to act as a host emulator, and provides a general purpose test backplane and interposer for testing Gen3, Gen2 or Gen1 hosts and devices. In addition, it supports the Summit Z3-16 with SMBus Support by providing SMBus tapping connectivity.
PXP-100B Test Platform The Teledyne LeCroy PXP-100B Test Platform provides a convenient means for testing PCIe 2.0 add-in cards with a self-contained portable and powered passive backplane. The PXP-100B provides power required for both cards under test, and an interposer can be used for connection to a protocol analyzer.
Summit T48 Analyzer The Summit T48 protocol Analyzer is Teledyne LeCroy's latest generation of protocol analyzers targeted at high speed PCI Express 4.0 I/O-based applications such as workstation, desktop, graphics, storage, and network card applications.

Teledyne LeCroy offers seven PCI Express protocol analyzer platforms (Summit™ T416, Summit T48, Summit™ T3-16, Summit T3-8, Summit T34, Summit T28, and Summit T24). The Summit T416 Protocol Analyzer is Teledyne LeCroy's Latest generation architecture and highest performance platform. It provides full bidirectional support of x16, x8, x4, x2, and x1 at data rates up to 16 GT/s. With 128 GB of trace memory, it offers enough capacity for analyzing and recording extensive PCI Express data streams. The Summit T34, T3-16 and T3-16 are Teledyne LeCroys midrange protocol analyzers. These protocol analyzers are at the forefront of SSD and computer storage analysis, test and compliance.

Supporting lane widths up to x8 at 8 GT/s, the Summit T48 offers the same powerful features and as an option allows for two T48 systems to be connected together to achieve a full x16 lanes at 16 GT/s. Ideal for embedded systems monitoring and analysis is the Summit T28, smaller and a more cost effective PCI Express protocol analyzer for x8 lanes at 5GT/s. While all of the Summit analyzers support PCIe storage protocols like NVM Express, SATA Express and SCSI Express, the Summit T34 is addresses PCIe storage analysis with a small, portable form factor, x4 lane width and a deep recording buffer of 32 GB of memory. For portability and ease-of-use the Summit T24 protocol analyzer offers analysis support for x1-x4 lanes at 2.5/5GT/s. The Summit T24 is Teledyne LeCroy's most optimized and low cost analyzer for analysis of PCIe 2.0 add-in-boards.

All Summit analyzer platforms use the PCI Express iPASS connector for probing. Teledyne LeCroy features the largest selection of PCIe based interposers and probing solutions. Teledyne LeCroy's PCI Express Protocol Analyzer solutions employ non-intrusive and transparent probing technologies thereby allowing fully unaltered data pass-through. In addition, it leverages the intuitive and powerful Teledyne LeCroy’s Trace expert software system, embedding a deep understanding of the PCI Express protocol hierarchy and intricacies and presents this knowledge to the user in a colorful, intuitive and easy to use graphical display, allowing users to quickly capture and validate PCI Express product designs. These analyzers enable IP, semiconductor, switch, software and system developers as well as add-on card vendors to quickly identify protocol violations and ultimately reduce development and debugging time.

Developers can use Teledyne LeCroy's PCI Express Protocol solutions to easily capture and decode PCI Express Transaction Layer Packets (TLPs), Data Link Layer Packets (DLLPs), and low-level link traffic, including Training Sequences and Skip Ordered-sets. Some of the errors detected include: 8b/10b errors, such as invalid symbols and incorrect running disparity; CRC errors; idle data errors; and EDB (End-of-Packet Bad) errors. They also provide a detailed display of split transactions, correlating requests transmitted from one PCI Express endpoint with completions received from the endpoint at the opposite end of the link.

Exercisers

The PCI Express exercisers can generate PCI Express transactions, observe behavior, and perform both stress testing and compliance testing. The Summit Z416 supports the new Specification 4.0 ("Gen3") data rates of 16 GT/s across up to 16 lanes. The Summit Z416 Exerciser supports up to x16 lane widths at data rates of 16 GT/s. As complete solutions, both the Summit T416, T48, Summit Z416, Summit Z3-16 systems give you the unique ability to record (capture) live traffic, modify the traffic, and then playback the exact data stream, or "script," using the exerciser.

Protocol Test Card

Teledyne LeCroy offers an integrated and automated compliance testing system, including Protocol Test Cards, approved by the PCI-SIG® as a standard tool for compliance testing for developers working with both the PCIe 2.0 and 3.0 specifications. In addition, the Summit Z3-16 exerciser is the only approved tool to run the UNH-IOLs NVM Express Conformance Tests. These tests are required for the NVM Express Integrators test.


Teledyne LeCroy’s Summit™ T48 joins the Summit™ T416 as the second protocol analyzer to be released in its family of tools supporting the PCIe 4.0 architecture. The new Summit™ T48 protocol analyzer based on the PCIe 4.0 specification supports up to 16GT/s and up to x8 lane width for protocol analysis. Companies that are interested in testing PCIe 4.0 based I/O cards such as Storage Controllers, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, and others will now be able to get all of the protocol analyzer debugging features they need, while being able to better manage their costs. SSD storage applications will also benefit from the integrated support for SSD bus protocols such as PCIe/ NVMe/ SMBus/ NVMe-MI/ TCG and others. When combined with Teledyne LeCroy’s Summit™ Z416 protocol exerciser, the Summit™ T48 will provide a deeper understanding of test results on a variety of test configurations. Teledyne LeCroy’s wide range of high speed interposers and probes provide full flexibility and connectivity to CEM and other form factor sockets on system boards as well as solder down and mid-bus probes.PCIe 4.0 technology

PCIe 4.0 technology achieves twice the effective data throughput rate of the PCIe 3.0 standard through a combination of increased data bit rate (8 GT/s moving to 16 GT/s), PCIe 4.0 uses similar encoding as PCIe 3.0 that have proven reliable for data transmission.

The colorful, intuitive and easy to use graphical display allows you to quickly capture and validate PCI Express product designs. All Teledyne LeCroy PCI Express protocol analyzers employ high-impedance, non-intrusive probing technology, thereby allowing fully unaltered data pass-through.

Lane Swizzling

In addition to a full suite of advanced hardware and software features, the Summit T48 provides user-convenience and analysis features, such as support for "lane swizzling" which allows a board developer to lay out a Mid-Bus probe pad with lanes in non-standard order, simplifying the design of the board. Internally the Summit T48 maps the lanes back into their correct order and accurately displays the embedded bus traffic. Other software features include enhanced error checking for automatic identification of additional error types, more compact trace files that allow for faster analysis of trace data, and the choice of simplified or advanced modes for setting up trace recording options.

Bit Tracer

The raw recording mode, Bit Tracer, allows bytes to be recorded as they come across the link, allowing debugging of PHY layer problems and combining the features of a logic analyzer format with a protocol analyzer format. The new auto sense link feature monitors negotiation between devices of different lane widths, and the bifurcated link support recombines multilink PCI Express operations that have been separated into narrower links.

Lan Support

The Summit T48 also supports Ethernet LAN port as a standard feature. By connecting over a LAN, engineers can operate the system remotely (e.g., install the client software on their desktop systems, and control an analyzer operating in a remote lab). Also, multiple engineers working collaboratively can time-share use of a single analyzer, reducing the need for an additional analyzer for each engineer, and increasing the cost effectiveness of the product.
