U.2 Transposer Adapter Datasheet

Teledyne LeCroy's U.2 Transposer Adapters allow the user to isolate data traffic from a specific port on a U.2 SSD and send it to a specific port on the host backplane. During testing of dual-port U.2 SSDs (or servers that utilize dual-port U.2 SSDs), this allows individual ports to be tested and any problems which might exist to be isolated to specific ports on the SSD or server backplane.

U.2(SFF-8639)-to-PCIe Adapters with Multi-power Connectors and Test Pad Support

Teledyne LeCroy’s enhanced U.2 (SFF-8639) adapter cards provide developers with extremely versatile tools to speed development of new U.2 (SFF-8639) designs and to troubleshoot existing U.2 (SFF-8639) issues.  Features include test points and multiple power connectors to make it easier to test different devices and designs.

Two configurations are provided:  one for single-port devices and Port A of dual-port designs; and the second for Port B of dual-port designs.

Key Features:

  • Allows U.2 (SFF-8639) devices to connect to PCI Express slots
  • Two configurations available: Standard version supports single-port devices and Port A of dual port devices, testing for NVMe x4 or x2 or SCSI Express X4 or x2; Port B version supports the second port of dual port drives for NVMe x2 or SCSI Express x2
  • Provides on-board power connectors including 75W ATX, 150W ATX, SATA, and Molex ATX
  • Provides multiple test points to monitor power, clock signals, etc.
  • Supports data rates up to 8 GT/s

  • The LEDs show that the signal is asserted low to the device.
  • The USB connector can monitor and capture traces using a Teledyne LeCroy protocol analyzer.

PCIE2EXP
  • PCI Express to ExpressCARD Adapter
  • Allows user to test PCI Express cards on the ExpressCARD bus.
  • JP3 -- The 12 Vdc connector on the board can be used to supply power to the board.
  • JR3 - The USB connector can monitor and capture traces from the motherboard using a Teledyne LeCroy analyzer.
  • Jumper JP2, JP4, JP5 - Control signals for the PCIe card bus, when shorted the signals are asserted.
  • Jumper JP1 - is a bypass for the 12 Vdc power connector and when shorted holds the +12 Vdc input to the PERST circuit high.

PELOOP-BACK
  • PCI Express x16, Tx to Rx Loopback Adapter.
  • Allows direct connection from Tx to Rx for Link Training Verification Testing on PCI Express x16

MINI2PCIE
  • PCI Express Mini to PCI Express Adapter
  • Allows user to test PCI Express Mini modules on the PCI Express bus.
  • Note: The manufacturer of the latch spring shown above, no longer sells the latch, therefore these adapters do not ship with a latch.
